Strescon manufactures a wide range of both architectural and structural precast/prestressed concrete products including bridge girders, wall panels, complete parking garages, hollow-core planking, piling and deck slabs. Strescon presently has two facilities: 70,000 sq. ft. in Saint John, New Brunswick and 50,000 sq. ft. In Bedford, Nova Scotia.In addition to our precast facilities for custom components, Strescon also operates a 32,000 sq. ft. facility in Saint John which manufactures standard concrete products for engineered drainage systems, such as pipe, manholes and catch basins.Job SummaryThis position is responsible for working directly with both external and internal stakeholders to ensure that all projects are completed safely within budget and defined scope. The Construction Project Coordinator must be an effective communicator with the leadership skills necessary to motivate professionals of different disciplines to achieve the best results on every project.Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively to create alignment between the office and the field
- Constant communication with the field to assess progress and discuss any issues
- Create erection sequences and load lists, and coordinate shipping with other Project Coordinators, Administrators, and shipping subcontractors
- Generate and submit daily field work reports; summarizing work activities and creating field variance reports where required
- Coordinate equipment requirements (crane, manlift, boom truck, etc.) with Erection Supervisor, create crane plans, and procure equipment as required
- Review budgets and job cost reports to ensure costs are being allocated appropriately
- Ensure internal procedures and paperwork (safety, erection, and testing) are being completed
- Coordinate scheduling, on-site requirements, and material procurement for our internal erection crew
- Effectively communicate project requirements with customers, on-site representatives, and other internal departments
- As directed by Contracts Manager, visit jobsites in the Maritimes to evaluate progress and check-in with team and others complete duties as assigned
Technical Requirements
- Post-secondary education with an engineering or technical background would be considered an asset
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience reading drawings would be considered an asset
- Ability to thrive in ever-changing environment
