Job description: A Construction Project Manager is a professional who leads and oversees a construction project, and works with Engineers and Architects to develop a plan, create a project time frame, distribute resources, and ensure timely completion. Their duties include planning, hiring, firing, and supervising employees.Construction Project Manager’s Main Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Oversees total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule
- Responsible for overall project performance and reporting in areas including, but not limited to safety, cost/budget, schedule, quality and project status
- Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
- Monitors project performance, schedule, costs, equipment, manpower, materials, safety and environment, and quality control
- Conducts site tours, including safety inspections
- Lead by example to ensure policies, procedures and standards are adhered to
- Mentors, coaches, supervises and assesses performance of direct reports and other team members
- Oversees project from pre-construction to closeout.

- 10 years of local Canadian construction experience as a Construction Project Manager completing a variety of industrial, and commercial new build projects.
- Full cycle ICI projects completed ranging from $20M-$30M in Value
- Ability to manage multiple projects/contracts
- Experience managing large contracts involving trades, consultants, construction management firms.
- Post-secondary diploma in a construction related discipline
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of different construction methods, sequencing, potential problems, and timelines
- Familiar with project management and estimating software programs
- Knowledge of relevant construction law and building code
