Job description: We currently have an opening for a Construction Site Representative/Contract Administrator in our Vancouver office.You will join our vibrant team of Professional Engineers and Technologists on construction projects throughout British Columbia and Western Canada. You will be responsible for providing on site representation and construction services for a variety of projects for a varied client base including the BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, Municipalities, and private sector clients.Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the on-site construction of various transportation engineering projects.
  • Engaging in daily contract administration duties as well as site inspection duties to monitor and document Contractor progress, workmanship, and conformance with the contract documents.
  • Serving as Associated Engineering’s Representative in communicating with the public and other stakeholders through the duration of the construction contract.
  • Participating in opportunities for contributing to all phases of projects from proposal writing, preliminary and detailed design, construction inspection and construction administration support
  • Complying and working within COR certified environment and performing all duties in accordance with those specified under the Occupational Health & Safety Act and applicable legislation.

  • 3+ years in Contract Administration and Site Inspection.
  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution considered an asset.
  • Experience on transportation projects, with specific experience in roadway improvements.
  • Familiarity with road/bridge construction materials, methods, and process.
  • Computer skills including civil3d, word, excel, PDF/Bluebeam markups and windows applications.
  • Committed team player with ability to work independently with minimum direction when required.
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines and schedules.
  • Demonstrates interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the province.
  • Valid driver’s license required. This position requires use of personal vehicle in good working order to be used occasionally for business use, for which there is reimbursement.
