Job title: Construction – Tile Setter

Job description: Reporting to the foreman, our tile installer must ensure all work is completed in compliance with relevant safety regulations and company policies. They will follow project specifications and timelines, working efficiently and effectively to meet deadlines. Effective communication with supervisors and team members is essential to maintain high standards of quality and efficiency.Your Duties and Responsibilities:Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and removing debris.
Measure and mark the surface to be covered, ensuring accuracy and precision.
Install underlayment, including anchor bolts, wires, and brackets, to support tile installation.
Mix, apply and spread mortar, cement, mastic, glue, or other adhesives using a hand trowel or notched trowel.
Lay and set tiles in position and apply pressure to affix tiles to the base, ensuring proper placement, even spacing and alignment.
Align and straighten tiles using levels, squares and straightedges
Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools, such as tile cutters and wet saws.
Apply grout to fill joints between tiles, ensuring consistency and removing excess grout.
Install tile strips and trim, such as bullnose and edge tiles.
Cut, polish and install marble and granite tiles, ensuring precision and accuracy.
Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles, ensuring a seamless repair.
Support the growth and development of company culture and professionally represent Northland Properties
Performs other duties as requiredRequirements:+2 years of working experience as a Tile Installer
Tile setter certification, Red seal or equivalentPhysical Requirements:Must be able to stand and/or be on their feet 10-12 hours/day working in outdoor weather and/or unregulated temperatures
Must be able to lift 50lbs and use proper lifting techniques for heavy items weighing more than 25 kilograms
Must be able to climb scaffoldings.What else will make you succeed in this role:Possesses and maintains necessary tools, equipment, and protective gear.
Demonstrates knowledge and compliance with health & safety regulations, procedures and company policies.
Adheres to project specifications and timelines ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency.
Maintains a clean and organized work area.
Work in conjunction with crew members to complete field projects or tasks.
Displays high levels of motivation, energy, and forward-thinking.
