Job description: ControllerOur client is on the search for a Controller to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial reporting requirements of the business. You will also be responsible for the processing and management of the day-to-day accounting transactions and financial statement preparation. The controller will be expected to provide updated financial statements and forecast cashflow requirements on a timely basis. This role will report to the CEO. - Provide financial reporting for the company including external reporting matters
- Plan and execute monthly financial close process including variance analysis
- Conduct financial analysis, identify trends, and provide strategic recommendations to support decision-making processes
- Oversee Full Cycle accounting process and assist with cost controls activities
- Maintain and improve relationships with banking partners and vendors
- Manage company cash-flows and on-line banking platforms and provide monthly reports to senior management
- Continuously evaluate existing financial processes and systems, identifying opportunities for improvement and implement to enhance efficiencies
- Oversee and mentor the Accounting Department providing guidance and support through a positive culture while promoting continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
Your strengths include:
- CPA Designation
- 1-2 years experience in a Controller role with department staff oversight
- 5+ years senior full cycle accounting and financial reporting
- Proficient in the management of daily/weekly and monthly cashflow reporting
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, with advance Excel knowledge
- Detail oriented with excellent organization and analytical skills
- Excellent communication across all levels of the organization in professional and collaborative focus
- Previous management skills leading accounting departmental staff
- Strong critical thinking and reasoning skills
- Able to complete work to deadlines with little direct supervision
- Driven, self-motivated, and goal-oriented
