Job description: Corporate AccountingOur REIT client is seeking an experienced Corporate Accountant to join their team in Calgary. The successful candidate will be responsible for key components of the financial reporting cycle including preparation of the consolidated financial statements. Outside of the reporting process this individual will play a key role in ongoing process improvement and will work closely with the finance and operations teams.Your success will be defined by your ability to:

• Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements, disclosures, MD&A, and Annual Information Form
• Prepare corporate accounting entries and balance sheet reconciliations in support of the month-end and quarter-end close processes.
• Prepare of monthly and quarterly financial reports for management and Board of Trustees
• Assist in the annual audit and quarterly review process with the external auditors
• Contribute to process improvements and automation efforts
• Ad-hoc projects and analysis as required

Your strengths include:

• Chartered Professional Accountant designation
• 2+ years’ experience in a similar role
• Knowledge of IFRS accounting principles
• Highly skilled in Excel
