We are growing, and our mindset is expansionary, with so much potential for the right person!Reporting directly to the Manager, Corporate Treasury, the candidate for the Corporate Treasury Accountant role will assist with providing value-added support in corporate accounting, cash management, cash flow forecasting, foreign exchange, credit facility utilization and bank administration.This accounting position provides support to the Treasury department across multiple areas of responsibility. These responsibilities include acting as primary contact for day-to-day inquiries from employees regarding administrative changes, cheque inquiries and other treasury and banking related activities; monthly accounting close process for a corporate entity, inclusive of balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations, analysis, and preparation of related journal entries; monthly and quarterly covenant compliance packages; assistance in other general duties including special projects and reports as required.Why this is the Perfect Opportunity for YouWith 28 brands in 78 Dealerships, in two countries, AutoCanada is a 2008, 2013 and 2021 , a 2021 and currently holds14 OEM Performance awards.Culture at AutoCanada is everything! Your Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and address required data maintenance for banking, point of sale, and credit card management systems; inclusive of user change management, bank account set up documentation etc.
- Primary day-to-day contact for internal employee network for Treasury and banking related inquiries.
- Prepare account transfers, wire transfers, letters of credit requests, loan drawdown requests, etc.
- Prepare assigned monthly and ad hoc journal entries and assigned reconciliations in support of the month-end close cycles.
- Responsible for performing assigned month-end closing balance sheet and income statement account analysis and preparing applicable journal entries and working papers.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly compliance packages.
- Provide a variety of support and back-up and for the Treasury department on an ad hoc basis.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Professional, resourceful, organized and highly motivated.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
- Proven strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work effectively, both independently and collaboratively, with a positive customer service focus.
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
- Experience in a treasury related function is an asset.
- Working knowledge of IFRS to support month-end close process.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Oracle ERP is an asset; and
- University Degree – Accounting, Business or Commerce. Professional accounting designation (CPA – CA, – CGA, – CMA) is an asset.
