Job description: We are in the search for a Cost Accountant to join our team situated in London, Ontario, Canada. As a Cost Accountant, you will be tasked with various responsibilities that revolve around the maintenance and analysis of cost accounting records, as well as coordinating with other departments to ensure accurate production costs.Responsibilities:

• Ensure the integrity and accuracy of cost accounting records through regular maintenance and updates.

• Conduct thorough reviews of Bill of Materials (BOM’s) and analyze consumption on a monthly basis.

• Carry out variance analysis to identify discrepancies between actual and standard costs, as well as investigate their root causes.

• Perform in-depth analysis of costs and margins by customers to identify opportunities for cost reduction.

• Coordinate physical inventory cycle counts, investigate variances, and resolve issues promptly.

• Record month-end adjusting entries and reconcile inventory-related General Ledger Accounts.

• Conduct monthly cost allocations as per agreed basis.

• Provide support and timely information to the sales team on product costs.

• Assist in monthly closing activities with timely and accurate reporting.

• Adhere to all prescribed Regulatory and Company requirements for Occupational Health, Safety and Environment, Food Safety and Quality Systems, HACCP, Sanitation and GMP’s.

• Extensive financial reporting and assist in accounting tasks as needed.

• Possess strong skills in Account Reconciliation
• Proficient in handling Accounts Payable (AP)
• Experienced in managing Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Skilled in using Microsoft Excel for financial tasks
• Proven expertise in Costing and Cost Analysis
• Demonstrated experience in Cost Reduction Analysis
• Knowledge in Cost To Serve Analysis
• Proficient in Data Analysis techniques
• Capable of performing comprehensive Financial Analysis
• Prior experience in a similar role as a Cost Accountant is preferable.
