Job description: Job Description:Our growing client is seeking a cost accountant to join their team. This critical Cost Accountant role is responsible for the ongoing analysis of product cost, development of new product cost and margin analysis. This role will also work closely with the sales teams and senior financial management team to establish customer pricing. Then this may be the role for you.Major responsibilities– Log a detailed record of collected data– Take physical inventory and review the cycle count program– Analyze projects and data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor usage, waste– Recommend costs and cost savings based on analysis– Estimate new and proposed product costs– Perform internal cost audits– Review changes in goods or services provided in order to determine what effect it has on the cost– Generate reports comparing production costs to standard costs and analyze manufacturing costs– Provide management with reports that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services– Develop and maintain the cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organization– Carry out variance analysis such as Purchase Price to Cost variance, cost revaluation, Invoice to PO price variances and work order variances– Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements– Assist in general ledger preparation and audits– Manage the implementation of a standard costing methodology for domestic plantsRequirements:– CPA or working towards designation.– 2-5 years of Cost Accounting work experience– Detailed and have the ability to work independently– Strong knowledge of cost management methodologies, activities, and cost pools based on direct and indirect cost rates– Strong analytical thinking and a detail-oriented mindset– Experience working with organizational accounting concepts– Competence with financial data analysis and report generation that is prompt and accurate

Expected salary: $80000 – 105000 per year
