Job description: Job Description:Reporting to the Equipment Accounting Supervisor, we are seeking a detail-oriented Cost Administrator who will support the equipment and job costing for the Morgan Group of Companies finance department. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the financial success of our organization while gaining valuable experience in a collaborative and supportive work environment.Responsibilities:
- Verify coding, and pricing to prepare and issue purchase orders accurately.
- Create and post monthly journal entries to accurately reflect financial transactions.
- Maintain monthly accounting accruals, recording and reconciling as necessary.
- Reconcile various general ledger accounts.
- Support the Equipment Accounting Supervisor with monthly budget preparation.
- Import equipment hours from site into accounting software, Explorer Contract Manager, and follow-up on variances.
- Understand various coding and complete reclassifying entries as needed to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Assist with year-end review working papers.
- Cross train and assist other departments in Finance.
- Undertake ad hoc projects as assigned by management to support organizational goals and initiatives.
Requirements:Requirements:
- 3 – 5 years’ experience in general accounting is an asset but is not a requirement.
- High School Diploma with an Accounting Certificate and/or Diploma would be an asset
- Related experience preferably in a construction or oilfield environment. Equivalencies based on education and experience will be considered.
- Intermediate level of Microsoft Suite, including Excel, Word and Outlook. Experience in Explorer Contract Manager, Version Eclipse 1.13 would be considered an asset.
