Job description: Position Summary:This position is an intermediate level role, that supports the organization at the regional level. Reporting to the Shared Services Finance Manager with day to day direction from the Credit & Collections Supervisor, the position will be responsible managing credit analysis, collections activities, and ensuring timely and accurate account receivables management. Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough credit analysis of new clients to assess creditworthiness and establish appropriate credit limits.
- Initiate and conduct collection calls on aged receivables, acting as the primary liaison between customers and Operations for issue resolution and dispute handling to maintain accounts in good standing.
- Identify and manage risks within the collection portfolio to minimize bad debt exposure.
- Perform bank statement reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial transactions.
- Process PST clearances and hold backs promptly and accurately.
- Handle cash applications efficiently to update accounts receivable records.
- Process credit card payments as necessary and in compliance with company policies.
- Maintain customer records in the system, documenting collection activities and interactions for reference.
- Prepare files for write-offs in accordance with company guidelines.
- Generate monthly/weekly aging accounts receivable reports for management review.
- Exhibit excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Foster collaboration and demonstrate strong teamwork to achieve departmental goals.
- Utilize strong negotiation and communication skills to interact with customers and internal stakeholders effectively.
- Support regular audit functions
Requirements:
- 3 years related work experience, combined with a proficiency in MS Word/Excel and a basic knowledge of accounting.
- Preference given to those with an accounting degree.
- Proven success in AR Collections
- Experience processing a high volume of cash applications
- Bank statement reconciliation experience
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
- Proficient in MS Excel and accounting software.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
