Job description: Data Architect for Business Intelligence & Data Analytics (Healthcare Sector)As a valued member of our client’s team, the Data Architect for Business Intelligence & Data Analytics will play a crucial hands-on role in designing and implementing all project data-related needs. We are seeking a strong, hands-on candidate who possesses a holistic view of IT in a healthcare setting, with extensive experience and knowledge in data architecture, data transformation strategies, data warehousing, BI, and analytics.Core Duties & ResponsibilitiesModeling/Transformation, Design, and Documentation:

  • Proficiency in developing reports with SQL, SSRS/SSIS/SSAS tools.

Data Warehouse:

  • Development and analysis of architectures and data structures to support reports and analyses, including regular updating of the ETL, design of data mapping, integration, and aggregation of data from various sources, SQL Server database.

Programming and Testing:

  • In close collaboration with the programmer analyst, ensure an action plan for programming and automating the reports of the decision support service using programming languages such as SQL, SAS, SSAS, SSRS, SSIS, Business Objects, or other reporting tools in the HIS.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and optimize database models to store and retrieve electronic medical records and administrative data.
  • Execute thorough analysis/profile of all system data elements (tables and fields), migrate data, and design data models with strong expertise in SQL, Oracle, Python, R, and/or similar data storage software query languages.
  • Develop database solutions to store and retrieve company information.
  • Analyze structural requirements for new Oracle Health software and associated applications.
  • Migrate required data from legacy systems to the new Oracle Health solution.
  • Design conceptual and logical data models and flowcharts.
  • Improve system performance by conducting tests, troubleshooting, and integrating new elements.
  • Optimize new and current database systems.
  • Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy, and integrity.
  • Participate in the development of archival and migration strategies of legacy applications data and/or databases.
  • Assist in the implementation and execution of data migration and data archival strategies.
  • Review gaps and propose solutions for data migration and archival during the solution design phase.
  • Define, document, communicate, and stabilize all relevant data integration and transfer processes.
  • Support the design and help implement visualization and reporting of archived data to satisfy business needs and data retention policies of the organization.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience with MS BI Stack (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, SSMS).
  • 5+ years of DBA experience.
  • Demonstrable experience in managing data warehouse and BI domains.
  • Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity, and SQL.
  • Familiarity with database design, documentation, and coding.
  • Strong understanding of ETL/Data design/Data model/Data consolidation/Data cubes.
  • Strong understanding of Data Security.
  • Good functional knowledge and ability to work with both MS SQL, Oracle, and NoSQL database environments.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Project management experience is an asset.

Education and Training

  • Bachelor’s degree or Community College diploma related to computer technology.
  • In-depth understanding of database structure principles.
  • Experience gathering and analyzing system requirements.
  • Knowledge of data mining and segmentation techniques.
  • Expertise in SQL and Oracle.
  • Experience producing conceptual and logical architecture diagrams.
  • Proven analytical skills.
  • Problem-solving attitude.
  • Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a new hire requirement of the job unless you have an exemption based on medical or on a ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.
