- Work alongside Managers and Partners to provide advice on, and support team members with, the adoption and implementation of the rules of professional conduct and ethics matters
- Ensure the Firm’s continued compliance with regulatory standards, rules of professional conduct, and internal policies by:
- Assisting in maintaining and updating the firm’s prohibited investment listings
- Playing a key role in coordinating and reviewing client press releases
- Collaborating with colleagues in the creation of high-quality and timely ethics-related thought leadership and training for MNP’s in-house education program
- Contribute to the development of new ideas, education, and approaches to improve work processes
- Assist in the identification, development, and implementation of technology solutions
- Maintain discretion by recognizing and adhering to the absolute confidentiality of highly sensitive information
- Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary
Skills and Experience
- Preference will be given to candidates who are Bilingual (written and oral) in French and English
- Completion of a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or similar designation
- 2-3 years of relevant work experience, post designation
- Ability to interpret and apply Canadian CPA Rules of Professional Conduct, Codes of Professional Conduct, and Code of Ethics, including the independence and conflicts of interest rules
- Pragmatic approach to problem-solving, with a reputation for high quality standards
- Collaborative and proactive
- Proven written and oral communication and project management skills
- Any of the following are considered an asset:
- Knowledge of the International Ethics Standards Board’s (IESBA) International Code of Ethics for Professional Accountants
- Knowledge of the American Institute of CPAs’ (AICPA) Code of Professional Conduct
- Knowledge of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board’s (PCAOB) Ethics & Independence Rules and the Securities Exchange Commission’s Auditor Independence Rules
