Job description: Job Description:We are in the Real Estate & Property industry, located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, offering a long-term contract employment opportunity. We are seeking a Development Accountant to join our team. This role involves managing financial records, processing invoices, developing funding packages, performing regular reconciliations of accounts, and providing financial insights to project teams.Responsibilities:

• Leverage accounting software systems to manage and maintain accurate financial records

• Develop and manage funding packages to support the financing needs of real estate projects

• Conduct regular reconciliations of accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance

• Utilize ADP – Financial Services and Deltek Vision to process invoices timely and accurately

• Collaborate with project teams, providing financial insights and support for decision-making

• Record and manage accruals accurately within financial statements

• Assist in the preparation of financial reports and conduct analysis for management review

• Support external auditors during the annual audit process

• Maintain accurate records of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)

• Conduct auditing of financial records as needed.

Requirements:

• Must have at least 3 years of experience as a Development Accountant or similar role within the Real Estate & Property industry

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required

• Experience with Yardi

• Must have a strong understanding of Accounting Functions

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is required

• Must have prior experience in Auditing

• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities are needed

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are required

• Must have a high level of attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field is required.

Expected salary: $33.25 – 38.5 per hour
