Job description: We have an exciting opportunity for a Die Handler to join our team in Langley, BCThis is a full-time, permanent position, with an excellent benefits package, and room for growth.Shift Schedule: Friday to Sunday 7:00 PM – 7:30 AMAs a Die Handler in a Die shop, you will be responsible for the safe handling, transportation, and storage of aluminum dies within the die shop. This role involves preparing dies for use, supporting maintenance activities, and ensuring the right dies are readily available for production. The Die Handler must work collaboratively with machine operators and die shop technicians to maintain a smooth workflow.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Pull all the dies from Automatic Die warehouse according to the production Plan.
- Set up the die ring according to the size of the die. Load all the required dies into the die oven. Transfer the dies from the die oven to Press.
- Work with press Supervisor and press operator for priority dies. Bring all the dies from the press after completing the order.
- Die Transportation: Safely transport dies from storage to die shop workstations, extrusion presses, or maintenance areas using appropriate material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, hoists).
- Die Storage & Organization: Organize and store dies systematically in designated storage areas, ensuring easy access and proper identification for production needs.
- Coordination with Production: Communicate with machine operators and technicians to confirm die requirements for upcoming production runs, minimizing downtime by ensuring timely die availability.
- Maintenance Support: Assist in cleaning, loading, and unloading dies from cleaning equipment such as caustic baths, contributing to efficient die maintenance processes.
- Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of die usage, movements, and storage locations for tracking and inventory management.
- Equipment Operation & Maintenance: Operate forklifts, hoists, and other material-handling equipment safely, following all safety regulations. Report any equipment issues promptly.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and participate in safety training related to material handling and hazardous materials.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environments
- Strong organizational skills for efficient die storage and retrieval.
- Basic knowledge of die maintenance and inspection.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work within a team.
- Ability to lift heavy items, stand for extended periods.
