Are you a strategic thinker that can manage many complex projects and initiatives related to division operations, programs and change management? If your answer is yes to both questions, we encourage you to apply for consideration to be on our team.As the Director of Forestry Business Services, you will lead, and direct the Forestry Business Services section and provide essential management and oversight of Division level finance, administration, and business program support. You report directly to the Executive Director, Central Services Branch, in this senior position you provide strategic advice and support to the Executive Directors by leading, managing, coordinating, and monitoring many complex projects and initiatives related to Division operations, programs, and change management.In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the Forestry Business Services team, which provides day-to-day administrative and financial support to all program areas within the Division. You will oversee contracting, procurement, financial and records management, human resource management, fleet tracking and monitoring, aircraft, and equipment account management, as well as the associated dependencies through numerous information management systems, including 1GX. Your team will be responsible for budget reporting, forecasting, contingency funding requests to the Treasury Board, and financial aspects of corporate reporting for the Division as a whole.One of the key accountabilities of your position, as Director, is to provide recommendations and advice to the Executive Directors in relation to enhancements to program and service delivery, including the provincial wildfire management program, forest management and forest health. In this position, you will also provide leadership and strategic project direction to associated project teams and stakeholders involved in major organizational transformation initiatives. Anticipates future needs and challenges and develops applicable procedures and solutions in advance.QualificationsEducation and Experience:
A bachelor’s degree in business, financial administration, or a related discipline, supplemented by six (6) years of related experience.
Related experience or education may be considered as and equivalency on one year of education for one year of experience or vise versa.Assets:
- Experience in contract administration and management, procurement, and human capital management.
- An accounting designation.
