Location: Calgary, AlbertaWhat you will be doing:Lead the company’s financial planning, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to drive strategic decision-making.Oversee the accounting function, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with relevant standards.Drive budget-to-actual reporting, providing insights and recommendations to improve financial performance.Ensure compliance with GAAP by researching and documenting accounting treatments for complex transactions. Develop and maintain accounting policies and prepare technical accounting memos to support financial reporting and audits.Establish and update accounting policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance across the organization.Implement and enhance internal controls, financial policies, and best practices to improve efficiency and risk management. Coordinate with external auditors during quarterly reviews and year-end audits, providing necessary documentation and support.Act as a trusted advisor to the CFO, assisting with key financial projects and initiatives as needed.Work closely with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights that support business objectives.Build relationships across the organization, proactively seeking out opportunities to improve processes and provide financial guidance.What you must have:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation is required.A minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, with a proven track record of overseeing accounting functions and managing budgets.Experience working in or with technology companies is preferred.In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, and best practices; solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting.
