Job description: Job Description:We are offering an exciting opportunity for a VP/Director of Finance in Gloucester, Ontario. This role primarily involves overseeing the company’s daily accounting functions, managing all financial and accounting processes, and working alongside the accounting team to streamline and improve procedures. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth running of the company and meeting company goals.Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily accounting functions, including preparation and presentation of monthly financial statements and reports
- Assist in managing day-to-day functions to ensure smooth operation of the company
- Direct all financial and accounting processes while maintaining the integrity of all financial transactions
- Collaborate with the accounting team to streamline and improve processes
- Implement best practices and internal controls
- Liaise with various government departments to ensure adherence to requirements
- Prepare annual working papers and reports, and communicate with external accountants
- Ensure timely completion of all regulatory filings and payments
- Review, assess, and manage the company’s financial reporting and budget processes
- Lead the auditing function and ensure corporate tax compliance
- Develop and implement corporate strategies in line with company goals
- Manage people effectively and provide necessary guidance.
Requirements:
- Candidate must possess a minimum of 10 years of post-designated experience in a similar role, with a focus on leadership and people management.
- Proficiency in Auditing, Budget Processes, Monthly Financial
Statements, Financial Reporting, and Regulatory Reporting is required.
- Experience with Budgeting and Forecasting is essential.
- The candidate must demonstrate a strong understanding and
practical application of Corporate Tax Compliance.
- A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is
mandatory.
- Familiarity with the creation and implementation of Policies
& Procedures within a finance department is necessary.
- The role requires substantial experience in People Management,
including team building, performance evaluation, and conflict resolution.
- The ability to contribute effectively to Corporate Strategy
with a finance perspective is crucial.
- The candidate must be prepared to provide strategic leadership
and make executive decisions.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
are expected.
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
simultaneously while meeting deadlines is required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
- The candidate must demonstrate a high level of integrity and
professionalism.
- An advanced degree in Finance, Business Administration, or
related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with finance-related software and platforms is advantageous.
