- Leadership and Strategy:
- Develop and implement logistics and warehouse strategies aligned with the company’s overall business goals.
- Lead and manage the warehouse teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Operational Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of logistics and warehouse functions, including receiving, storage, inventory management, order fulfillment, and distribution.
- Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Optimize warehouse layout, storage systems, and material handling processes to maximize space utilization and minimize costs.
- Supply Chain Optimization:
- Collaborate with procurement, sales, and other departments to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
- Develop and maintain relationships with transportation providers, suppliers, and other vendors and external partners.
- Implement and manage advanced logistics technologies and systems to enhance visibility, tracking, and reporting.
- Financial Management:
- Prepare and manage the logistics and warehouse budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising service quality.
- Analyze and report on financial performance, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Talent Development:
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing logistics and warehouse team.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, providing coaching and feedback to team members.
- Promote a safe and inclusive work environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Health and Safety:
- Develop, implement, and enforce health and safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Conduct regular health and safety audits, risk assessments, and training programs.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal health and safety regulations.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness and ensure that all employees are informed of and adhere to safety protocols.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in logistics and warehouse operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the retail industry.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful logistics and warehouse strategies.
- Background in operations management, process definition, and project management.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles, logistics technologies, and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Experience in implementing new ERP/WMS systems is highly desirable.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
