Job description: Director of MarketingOur client is looking for a Director of Marketing to join their team in Edmonton. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on, strategic marketer with a passion for brand storytelling, data-driven decision making, and a deep understanding of digital, social, and traditional marketing landscapes.Your success will be defined by your ability to:

• Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies aligned with company goals.
• Ensure brand consistency across all channels and personally address any issues related to brand reputation or deviations from brand standards.
• Oversee all digital marketing efforts, including but not limited to social media, SEM, SEO, public relations, website, and email campaigns.
• Lead and develop the marketing team.
• Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, product development, and sales.
• Drive customer acquisition, retention, and loyalty programs.
• Develop comprehensive annual and quarterly plans for the marketing department to guide strategic direction and execution.
• Oversee the creation and implementation of national and local marketing campaigns.
• Create, review, and approve marketing content, including social media posts, blog articles, newsletters, and other digital and print materials.
• Work closely with franchise owners to develop local marketing strategies, providing personalized support for their specific marketing needs.
• Establish and maintain relationships with external partners, such as advertising agencies, designers, and media buyers, negotiating contracts and deliverables as needed.
• Conduct hands-on research into market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to inform marketing initiatives and strategy.
• Monitor marketing budgets, approve expenditures, and ensure that all activities are cost-effective and within budget.
• Coordinate company sponsored events, such as grand openings or promotional activities, overseeing the process from concept through to execution.
• Prepare and present detailed reports on marketing performance metrics to senior leadership, adjusting strategies based on data-driven insights.
• Contribute to the marketing efforts for new franchise openings, providing direct support to help locations grow and succeed.

Your strengths include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field. MBA or equivalent is an asset.
• 8+ years of marketing experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within the hospitality, retail, or F&B industries.
• Strong expertise in digital marketing, including SEO, SEM, paid social, and performance marketing.
• Proven track record of building and managing marketing teams.
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
• Experience working in fast-growing, multi-location environments is highly preferred.
• Passion for food, sustainability, and creating memorable guest experiences.
