Job description: Director of OperationsOur Calgary client that is in the commercial cleaning business is searching for an experienced Director of Operations to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing company’s processes, systems, and personnel to achieve operational efficiency, organizational growth, employee engagement, and client satisfaction. This leadership role requires expertise in strategic planning, process optimization, productivity maximization, and sales/account management in the janitorial services industry.Your success will be defined by your ability to:
- Define organizational objectives and establish KPIs to drive performance and achieve business goals.
- Translate strategic plans into actionable initiatives that deliver measurable outcomes.
- Monitor and assess operations, personnel, and performance to identify opportunities for optimization.
- Oversee budgeting, cost control, and expense management to ensure financial health.
- Implement and refine systems and processes to enhance efficiency and support sustainable growth.
- Conduct site tours and oversee employee training to ensure service excellence and alignment with company standards.
- Collaborate with the sales team to support business development initiatives
- Maintain strong client relationships by ensuring high levels of service
- Act as a key point of contact for major accounts, fostering trust and long-term partnerships.
- Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, building managers, and facility staff.
- Manage vendor and subcontractor relationships, ensuring adherence to service expectations and cost-effectiveness.
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and professional growth.
- Design and implement training programs to build workforce capabilities and address evolving industry trends.
Your strengths include:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Proven organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to streamline operations and implement systems that enhance efficiency and quality.
- A proactive and adaptable mindset to lead organizational change and foster innovation.
- 10+ years of senior leadership experience in the facility services industry.
- Proven sales and account management experience in the janitorial or facility services industry.
- Proficiency in WinTeam and Google Workspace.
- Familiarity with Certificate of Recognition (COR) and ISO 9001 standards.
