Position Overview:The District Asset Protection Manager (DAPM) is responsible for ensuring that core AP initiatives are being executed within their assigned district. They are responsible for leading and developing Asset Protection Specialists to ensure the execution of AP initiatives and delivering on asset protection metrics. The DAPM is directly responsible for financial losses within their assigned district caused by, but not limited to traditional theft and fraud, organized retail crime, connected retail fraud, & property vandalism. The DAPM will be the key business partner to the District Manager driving AP activities as they relate to traditional theft and fraud, organized retail crime, connected retail fraud, & property vandalism. The DAPM will work directly with the SM’s, DM and other district partners to further evolve district asset protection strategies, including such activities as analyzing district trends, improving key asset protection metrics, executing AP initiatives and leading change related in the district. Additionally, the DAPM are responsible to maintain AP expense lines as outlined on the district P&L L. The DAPM is responsible for developing expanding community relationships with local law enforcement to support positive relations, develop support and communicate business needs as it relates to retail loss.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations
- Review and analyze market shrink performance to identify trends. Partner and inform District Operations Manager (DOM) with identified opportunities related to operational processes.
- Responsible for AP P&L expense lines to meet or beat plan (Security Miscellaneous, Sensor Matic, Security Guards and Security: Armored/Alarm).
- Support Compliance and Process team with assigned tasked as prescribed by your leader.
- Identify business risks associated to operational processes behaviors through exception-based reporting and CCTV that may cause shrink or other profit erosion opportunities Partner with DM and DOM to develop strategies for resolution
- Responsible to support and deliver AP initiatives within the district such as but not limited to camera upgrades, merchandise protection updates department hardening initiatives, and building security initiatives

Establishing and enforcing compliance
- Accountable for identifying and successfully investigating matters of internal theft and fraud activity
- Accountable for district apprehension performance
- Develop and grow relationships with local law enforcement agencies.
- Partner with Central Investigations team or coordinate investigations identified as Organized Retail Crime
- Prepare detailed and accurate reports in a timely manner for police, HR, and others upon request.
- Monitor criminal cases, appear in court and testify as warranted.
Develop Talent
- Support stores and recommend solutions to improve Associate Engagement, education and awareness related to traditional theft and fraud, organized retail crime, connected retail fraud, & property vandalism
- Accountable for developing and coaching the Asset Protection Specialist
- Act as the conduit for communicating trends, activities, and requirements to Regional Manager to support and drive the AP strategy

Direct Manager/Direct Reports:

Travel Requirements:
- Ability to travel (including occasional overnights) 10 – 20% of the time
Physical Requirements:
- May involve bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving merchandise and tools, climbing a ladder.
- Extended periods of standing and walking through out the store locations
- May involve quickly responding to public address system announcements, including customer services calls, pages, and general information.
- Moving around the store and being able to communicate with and assist associates & customers.
- Operating a computer and other technology.
Hybrid Work:
- Multi-site experience
Working Conditions:
- Working within a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekends.
- Warehouse environment that can be dusty and noisy.
- Doors are frequently open, causing drafts and interior temperature changes.
Minimum Education:
- NA
Minimum Years of Work Experience:
- Must have experience as an Asset Protection Specialist Supervisor for a minimum 1 year
Minimum Leadership Experience:
- Supervisory experience, 2+ years of district-based Asset Protection management experience
Certifications:
- Where applicable, required to maintain a valid and up to date security guard license and/or private investigator license.
Other Requirements/Assets:
- Must have access to a vehicle
- May be required to travel to various stores in the (market area)
- Available to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends
