Job description: Domain Information and Data ArchitectTerm: Initial term until February 28, 2025, with an option to extend for two additional six-month terms.Position Overview:Our client is seeking a Domain Information and Data Architect to join the Enterprise Architecture Team. This role will lead and consult within the information and data domain, providing expert advice and guidance in developing strategic directions for architecture, roadmaps, standards, and best practices. The architect will develop and communicate architectural viewpoints, models, and designs, and build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to understand the needs of the environment.Duties & Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage roadmaps for data architecture transformation.
• Evaluate existing data architectures and recommend improvements.
• Define architecture standards and reference architectures for proper use of information and data.
• Drive the adoption of modern data technologies and practices, including data modeling, data integration, and data warehousing to enhance data accessibility, quality, and governance.
• Recommend new technologies to improve data management effectiveness.
• Work closely with data management and IT teams to ensure delivery of all requirements.
• Source and document data requirements, determine the current state of data architecture, develop a target state for data architecture, and perform gap analysis to develop a data roadmap to resolve gaps.
• Lead efforts to identify, evaluate, and implement emerging technologies in data systems that meet feasibility and performance criteria.
• Define and document architecture and technology standards, reference and solution architectures, constraints, and guidelines.

Mandatory Qualifications/Requirements:

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data architecture.
• Certifications in Azure architecture or data engineering (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Data Engineer Associate).

Rated Qualifications/Requirements:

• 5 years of experience in data architecture, with a proven track record of designing and implementing enterprise data systems, particularly in healthcare or health insurance data systems.
• Experience with Azure Cloud services, especially those related to data storage, processing, and analytics (e.g., Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure DataBricks, Azure Synapse Analytics).
• Experience developing multi-year technology and service roadmaps and advising stakeholders on alternatives and solutions.
• Familiarity with HIPAA and other healthcare-related regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Experience with big data technologies in a healthcare context.
• Understanding of advanced analytics, machine learning, and their applications in healthcare and insurance industries.
