Together, we are EXP.Are you ready to design your future?Be our next Electrical Engineer (Transportation)!Your work environment at EXPIn this role, you will be a part of the Transportation electrical team, of the Building sector, based in Markham office.What a day at EXP has in store for you

  • Prepare detailed designs for transportation electrical systems using AutoCAD and or Microstation.
  • Conduct detailed calculations such as voltage drop, illumination, conductor and conduit sizing, and grounding to ensure that designs meet relevant engineering standards and applicable codes.
  • Perform complete lighting analysis using AGi32.
  • Perform Traffic signal design.
  • Design of electrical layouts for cable raceways/underground conduits, lighting, panel schedules design, lighting poles and base details, luminaire schedule, electrical grounding.
  • Coordination with Designers and Engineers from other disciplines.
  • Perform site visits and contract administration.
  • Preparing Contract documents, including specifications and cost estimates.

What your experience looks like

  • An Engineering degree in a relevant discipline from an accredited University.
  • Minimum of (5) years continuous experience in detailed design and design consultancy.
  • Registered Professional Engineer.
  • Knowledge of IES-RP-8 and Roadway lighting and Parking lot lighting.
  • Knowledge of OPSD, OPSS, TAC and OTM manuals would be considered an asset.
  • Previous experience in Transportation and Transit projects is a must.
  • Experience with advanced lighting design tools (AGi32) would be considered an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation and SPIDACalc.
  • Knowledge of industry/regulatory codes and standards (CSA, OBC, NFPA, AREMA and IEEE standards).
  • Experience with electrical design tools/software such as. ETAP, and SKM would be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of electrical calculations (short circuit, load flow, protection coordination, arc flash, cable sizing, and lighting design) would be considered an asset.
