After greeting patients warmly and listening to their concerns, you study their medical histories and perform physical examinations. You also order and interpret laboratory tests and x-rays.After making a diagnosis, you develop and implement a treatment plan which may include providing appropriate referrals for secondary or tertiary care. You treat minor injuries by suturing, splinting, and casting, as well as providing continuity in managed care for pre-existing long-term problems. Within the scope of prescriptive authority, you provide prescriptions for medications to accomplish the treatment plan.Providing patient-focused care, you always take the time to instruct and counsel with patients and their families about their treatment plan. You are also conscientious about completing appropriate documentation of all evaluations, care, and services rendered. You get great satisfaction out of seeing your patients heal and enjoy a better quality of life.QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program and certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or Nurse Practitioner Program and certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
- The employee shall meet the requirements of the North Dakota Board of Medical Examiners; and be licensed to practice medicine without restrictions within the State of North Dakota
- Current licensure as a PA/FNP to practice in the State of North Dakota by the State Boards.
- Current DEA certification
- Current CPR certification required
- DOT Certification
- Current ACLS certification
- Valid North Dakota Driver’s License
- Must be able to meet and maintain current NHC credentialing and privileging requirements.
