It will establish a 6-month eligibility list which may be used to fill similar positions.This job is based in the thriving and diverse city of in the beautiful .We are the Family and Children’s Services Branch in Yukon’s Department of Health and Social Services. While working closely with Yukon First Nations and the Council of Yukon First Nations, we aim to make a difference through the delivery of Yukon-wide services and programs that support positive and healthy outcomes for children, youth and their families.Your roleThe Family Resource Worker is responsible for providing and maintaining culturally appropriate, home based support services and groups for caregivers with children aged 0-19 within Yukon. The position works to strengthen the caregiver-child relationship by enhancing parenting skills, reducing caregiver stress, and addressing the needs of caregivers to promote a safe and healthy environment for children and their caregivers. The position works closely with other government and non-government resources in the provision and coordination of services to the child(ren) and families.

• Completion of Social Work Degree, Social Services Diploma or Degree in a related field, such as Psychology.
• Experience identifying risks to families and children
• Experience working collaboratively with parents in learning problem-solving and coping skills by teaching and modelling appropriate and positive parenting life skills.
• Experience facilitating groups would be an asset
• Experience maintaining client records.

• Proven ability to build rapport and trust in relationships with clients, collaterals, and stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding the values and practice of strength-based, family centered services.
• Awareness of child protection and Child and Family Services Act.
• Understanding of Yukon First Nations Culture and self-reflective cultural practices

Expected salary: $77617 – 89913 per year
