Job description: Finance Business PartnerOur Calgary client is currently seeking an experienced Finance Business Partner to join their team. A successful candidate will deliver financial insights and strategic support to operational leaders across the organization. This role is responsible for financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to ensure alignment with organizational goals and business initiatives. It also includes evaluating investment opportunities, assessing their financial impact, and contributing to strategic initiatives such as network expansions and cost optimization efforts.Your success will be defined by your ability to:

• Develop and maintain financial models for revenue, expense, and cash flow forecasting, supporting informed decision-making and adaptability.
• Lead annual budgeting and ongoing forecasts; analyze variances to identify cost drivers and support spending optimization.
• Prepare financial reports, dashboards, and KPI tracking to highlight trends, risks, and performance for senior leadership.
• Deliver financial analysis and recommendations for strategic initiatives such as network expansion, fleet management, and investment evaluations.
• Work closely with operational leaders to align financial strategies with business goals and provide advisory support.
• Review GL accounts, ensure proper classification, prepare journal entries, and maintain compliance with accounting policies.
• Evaluate and enhance financial systems and workflows, driving the adoption of best practices in financial reporting and analysis.

Your strengths include:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or a related area.
• CPA designation or actively working towards it would be an asset but is not required.
• 5+ years of progressively responsible financial experience, preferably in a medium to large organization.
• 3+ years of experience in a role involving analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, particularly in managing complex financial analyses.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess financial data and provide strategic insights.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Exceptional communication skills
• Proficiency in financial modelling, forecasting, and reporting tools, including advanced Excel skills.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify anomalies and areas for improvement.
