As a Finance Coordinator, you will be instrumental in upholding the highest standards of financial integrity, streamlining financial administrative workflows, and fostering a collaborative environment that promotes excellence.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESAs a Finance Coordinator, your main focus is to keep our financial and administrative processes running smoothly.Handle the timely processing of financial transactions, keeping everything transparent, in accordance with the Government of Alberta Financial Administration Act, Public Service Act, Treasury Board Directives, Canada Revenue Agency rulings, OAG Finance policies and standards, and internal procedures.Apply critical thinking and sound judgment when addressing identified issues and accurately processing invoices, transactions, and expense claims.Act as a frontline resource of the Finance team for inquiries received from employees and external parties, providing guidance on typical financial-related questions.Prepare and generate reports for month-end, year-end, and budget processes.Analyze variances in the reports by identifying errors/ risks/trends, do investigations, and follow-up actions.Systemically organize files and records.Identify inefficiencies/ bottlenecks in the financial administration process, recommend improvements, and contribute to the ongoing enhancement.Assist in binder preparations for reports, working papers, and presentation packages.Take part in the orientation/ onboarding of new hires by training colleagues on related financial stewardship principles and related internal controls and processes.Foster internal and external stakeholder relationships for effective financial administrationThe ideal candidate would have demonstrated the following competencies:Acting ethically: Demonstrates integrity and trustworthiness.
