financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a
comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the
company’s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally
accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards. Accountable
for indirect sourcing, travel and corporate card program. Lead and direct cross functional
teams with effective coaching skills.A Day in your life:

  • Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepares internal and external financial reports.
  • Maintains or oversees the control of accounts and records in such areas as disbursements, expenses, tax payments and income. • Compiles and analyzes financial information to record transactions, prepare reports, and review and verify accuracy.
  • Prepares balance sheet, profit and loss and cash flow statements, prepares and consolidates financial statements, and other accounting schedules and reports.
  • Designs, modifies, installs, and/or maintains accounting systems to ensure an adequate recognition of financial transactions.
  • Responsible for the adherence to and communication of accounting and auditing policies and procedures and internal controls.
  • May be responsible for month end close.
  • May be responsible for technical support and accounting of M&A activities.
  • May oversee technical accounting research for complex business transactions and implementation of new accounting standards.
  • Responsible for reporting complaints and Adverse Drug Reactions (ADR)
  • Manage the accounting team including employee recruitment, salary merit, performance evaluation, employee goal setting & career development.
  • Lead, coach and develop team to deliver on departmental and organization goals.
  • Collaborate with business FP&A team on accurate revenue recognition practices.
  • Control all accounting activities, recommending new policies or regulations as required and executing financial decisions with sound business and professional judgement.
  • Supervise and monitor cash management process locally including forecasting cashflow, approving bank transactions, collaborating with corporate treasury head office.
  • Participate in special projects, including large and complex assignments such as business integrations, amalgamations and divestitures.
  • Approval of local balance sheet reconciliations while ensure quality standards are met.
  • Manage/partner with outsourced shared service functions including Accounts Payable, Expense Report processing, Travel and Record to Report activities ensuring accuracy, appropriate controls and adherence to SLA’s.
  • Monitor and maintain company’s car program including payments and reporting.
  • Manage/partner with indirect sourcing and develop long term strategies to lower costs.
  • Oversee the internal controls Sarbanes Oxley compliance, ensuring appropriate internal controls are in place, providing recommendations within the organization, and liaison with internal audit corporate head office.
  • Oversee compliance of government reporting requirements including sales tax & income tax compliance.
  • Oversee, all tax audits with government agencies. Review accounting tax provisions, income tax returns as well as transfer pricing analysis. Liaison with outside tax consultants and collaborate with corporate tax head office team.

Typically has advanced knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline with understanding of the impact of work on other areas of the organization.
Requires a Baccalaureate degree (or for degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)( 4)(iii)(A) and minimum of 5 years relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years prior relevant experience.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Recognized accounting designation such as Certified Professional Accountant.

JOB EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in Accounting or Finance.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a team/department.

  • Demonstrated expertise in accounting and finance practices.
  • Excellent problem solving and strong leadership skills, particularly in relation to organization, planning, communication and team building.

  • Must be able to demonstrate very strong attention to detail.

  • Working knowledge of SAP and highly proficient in Excel.

DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION

  • Advanced degree in Accounting or Finance, or MBA JOB EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of 3 years prior relevant experience in Accounting or Finance.
  • Experience in the Healthcare or Medical Device Industry
