Presently servicing a select group of advisors in Ontario, Winnipeg, and Western Canada, LP Financial is taking steps to grow its footprint and service offering in the Canadian financial services distribution landscape.Job DescriptionReporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Financial Accountant supports the LP Team to ensure the accurate and efficient execution of the financial reporting processes.

  • Perform day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, invoicing, accounts receivable, and daily trust account settlements;
  • Prepare month-end closing entries;
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly account reconciliations;
  • Assist with payroll preparation & updating records;
  • Assist with the preparation of government filings;
  • Compile financial information to support other departments and related companies;
  • Assist with Corporate audit preparation and responding to queries from auditors;
  • Ad hoc analysis as required;
  • Other duties, including office-related tasks, as required;

QualificationsEducation & Work Experience

  • Intermediate-level accounting education;
  • At least 3 -5 years of working experience in a similar role;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks;
  • Knowledge of the investment industry and good business acumen would be an asset.

Technical Knowledge

  • Intermediate working knowledge/experience with Microsoft Office products;
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central would be an asset;
  • Experience with Quickbooks would be an asset;
  • Experience with Jet Reports financial reporting software would be an asset.

  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Excellent team player with the ability to build collaborative working relationships;
  • Strong work ethic and organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
