Job description: Senior Financial AccountantOur Calgary client is searching for an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join their team. A successful candidate will be primarily responsible for accurate and efficient monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reporting. This is a contract role for 18 months.Your success will be defined by your ability to:

• Review and assist with the preparation of consolidated quarterly and annual Management’s Discussion and Analysis
• Prepare and analyze Financial Statements with notes, quarterly Audit Committee presentations and security filings (Annual Information Form, Form 6-K and Form 40-F)
• Perform monthly internal financial statements and presentations
• Review calculations and journal entries supporting month-end accounting and reporting
• Assist with account reconciliation analysis, and external audit process
• Research and analyze IFRS accounting issues including new accounting pronouncements
• Assist with special projects and respond to ad hoc requests
• Review corporate presentations and press releases

Your strengths include:

• Bachelor’s degree and CPA with 3+ years post-designation experience
• Relevant oil and gas accounting, IFRS and financial reporting experience is required
• Highly organized with strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities
• Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required
• Microsoft Dynamics 365 accounting system experience would be an asset
