Job description: Our client is a mid-size construction company looking for their next great Financial controller. Reporting to the president you will oversee a growing department ( hands-on), that is responsible for the production of the monthly financials, following margins by project, and building and maintaining relationships with financial institutions and the CMHC. We are looking for someone who is not afraid to be hands-on with a work-hard and play-hard attitude while building an environment that fosters financial responsibility at every level. Competitive base salary ( $120-150K)

6 weeks vacation
No group insuranceResponsibilities
Responsible for the month-end process including preparing the financials
Responsible for the budgets, forecasts and variance analysis
Plan and execute the year-end process with the external accounting firm
Perform cost analysis on a project-by-project basis
Prepare tax returns for several companies
Negotiate insurance contracts
Follow-up on certain important files with the CMHC and negotiate as required
Prepare the required disbursement request with banks for both residential and multi-unit real estate projects
Work closely with sales and the company president
Manage the accounting department and advise on future acquisitions
Assessment of current ERP
Other related dutiesQualifications
Min 5 years experience in a similar role
Min 5 years in the construction industry
CPA or Pre CPA required
Bilingual ( french environment)
Very strong in Excel
Experience working with an ERP such as Maestro, Acomba, Yardi, Hopem, etc.Summary
