Job title: Financial Reporting Specialist (PERM)

Job description: Financial Reporting SpecialistCalgary based client is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Reporting Specialist to join their finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of GAAP/IFRS and experience with financial systems and reporting tools. The client, publicly traded, operates internationally in the E&P space and requires the individual to be in the office full-time, with flexibility for needing to work from home on occasion.Your success will be defined by your ability to:
- Prepare documents required for a publicly traded company (IE F/S, MD&A, AIF, etc.)
- Prepare accompanying working papers and assisting the external auditors as needed
- Work on complex accounting areas (IE local accounting differences versus IFRS)
- Work on ad-hoc projects as required (IE due diligence, operational reporting, system improvements)
- Support the finance team by making strategic decisions by manipulating and analyzing data to create actionable insights
- Analyze and reconcile discrepancies, providing any necessary recommend adjustments
Your strengths include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and CPA designation is required
- Experience in financial reporting, public accounting, or corporate finance.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS.
- A team-first player who brings a tenacious curiousness to the table
