Job description: Job Description:THE ROLE:We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Capital Accountant for a 6- month contract. This role focuses on accounting for capital transactions and involves ensuring compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). The ideal candidate will excel in preparing accurate financial records, which includes complex accounting entries.Typical duties include:
- Prepare and post monthly and quarterly accounting for capital transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, and impairments, in compliance with IFRS
- Conduct monthly and quarterly variance analysis and internal reporting, providing insights into key financial movements
- Complete monthly reconciliations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data
- Prepare capital asset continuity schedule and working papers
- Assist with accounting entries related to Asset Retirement Obligations (ARO), depreciation and leases
ABOUT YOU:You are an exceptional Capital Accountant with at least 5 years of experience managing large asset portfolios and a solid understanding of IFRS. You thrive on ensuring compliance and have a strong proficiency in preparing accurate financial records, including handling complex accounting entries. An expert in SAP, your working experience with this enterprise software sets you apart and aligns perfectly with our requirements. Your excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills are complemented by your mastery of MS Excel. Ideally, you have gained valuable experience within the Oil & Gas industry. - 5 years of experience working with a multi-billion dollar asset portfolio, with working knowledge of IFRS
- SAP experience is strongly preferred
- Excellent analytical, organizational, attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Strong Microsoft Excel skill (vlookup, pivot, large data manipulations)
- Preference for CPA designation with Oil & Gas experience
