Our client, a top 5 bank, is looking for a Fund Accountant for a 9 months contract in Toronto. This position is hybrid with 3 days on site. High potential for contract extension is possible.
Pay rate: $24.07 – $29.57 / Hour

As a Fund Accountant your duties will include, but are not limited to:
●Ensuring all required data for producing the NAV are available and quality ensured
(corporate action, pricing) and prepare the Net Asset Value (NAV) for the funds
assigned
●Reconciling unit holder capital stock, cash, and security holdings and investigate and
clear all outstanding issues in a timely manner
●Analyzing & reconciling the general ledger to sub-ledger and resolve outstanding issues
in a timely manner
●Calculating performance fees (if applicable) and investigate, document, and escalate
issues/events
●Preparing the calculation of year-end distributions of income, capital gains and related
tax issues
●Delivering quality customer service through timely and accurate report delivery
●Maintaining any client on-site reports in an organized manner and ensure all daily
valuations reports are accounted for and stored for audit purposes
●Minimizing NAV discrepancies and ensure timely corrective action
●Liaising with external custodians/3rd parties for the accurate and timely computation of
the funds NAV
●Adhering to all regulatory requirements and accounting standards
●Maintaining strong working knowledge of the various accounting policies for different
fund types.Qualifications
●Post-secondary degree in related field (Accounting or Finance related)
● Securities industry knowledge
● Accounting experience – working knowledge of GAAP/IFRS
● Strong analytical skills
● Strong Microsoft Office Skills: Excel, Word
● Excellent analytical skills
● Accuracy
● Detail-oriented
● Ability to work in a fast-paced environment & under tight deadlinesDesirable
● Completion of Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or Mutual Funds Course (IFIC)
● Working towards an accounting (or related) qualification desirable but not
compulsory
● Previous analytical exposure is desirable
● Knowledge of MPower & pControl an asset
● VBA skills
● Good technical knowledge on calculating Net Asset Value, preparing financial
