Healthcare is not exempt.Founded in 2020 by healthcare professionals who identify as immigrants and people of colour, Future Faces of Healthcare is an internship program with a vision to improve equity for BIPOC students interested in health care entrepreneurship. It is completely funded by Foundation Physiotherapy and Wellness and its private practice partners.Our Vision: To improve the accessibility of high-quality physical wellness to marginalized communities through empowering entrepreneurship in health care related students who identify as black, indigenous and people of colour.Position OverviewThe Future Faces program is looking for TWO engaging, energetic interns who will work directly with the Foundation Physiotherapy leadership team to lead projects that will work to improve physiotherapy and rehabilitation accessibility to people of colour.Foundation Physiotherapy will provide all the resources and supplies to ensure success of this event.You must be a student who aspires to become an entrepreneur in healthcare.You want to learn from and work well in team settings. You are self directed and passionate to make change in healthcare.You are an energetic and engaging team player dedicated to learning and investing your time to create a legacy project for marginalized people who do not have access to quality physiotherapy and rehabilitation services.You want to be a leader of change.You are a perfect fit either of the internship roles: 1) project management OR 2)marketing and content creationYou are also:
- Currently enrolled in 3rd or 4th year of a health science, applied science, kinesiology undergrad with a plan to apply to a postgraduate rehabilitation program OR
- Currently enrolled in 1st year of physiotherapy, chiropractic or RMT program in Ontario
- Aspiring to be an entrepreneur and leader of change
- Able to commit to one hour/week towards the project
- Able to travel to any of our Toronto locations for shadowing, orientation and meetings as required
-Be able to answer the following questions:
- What are the gaps for people of colour to access high-quality rehabilitation services?
- How will you work with the Foundation Physiotherapy team to address this gap?

- Interns will receive a scholarship of three stipends of $500, intended to assist them with their post-graduate aspirations.
- Interns will have access to mentorship, shadowing and sponsored educational events through Foundation Physiotherapy.
- Interns will be provided a clinician mentor during their internship.
