Job description: General ManagerOur client is searching for a General Manager to join their team. This role will blend business acumen and Fitness Centre operational knowledge to drive business results while building a high-performing team. A successful candidate will be committed to a deep understanding of the value of operational excellence and outstanding customer service.Your success will be defined by your ability to:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations, establish production priorities, monitor KPIs, review organizational statistics and taking appropriate actions to achieve goals and targets
  • Achieve sales quotas
  • Analyze sales reports to identify and address trends and issues in performance
  • Oversee sales objectives to support promotions and programs that maximize revenue
  • Continuously onboard, train, and develop employees on sales processes and competencies by adhering to organizational policies and standards
  • Achieve positive net growth by driving topline sales and executing on all established organizational retention strategies
  • Oversee the management of all operations within the specific Fitness Center
  • Proactively handle all concerns and feedback via NPS, and direct inquiries
  • Instill a positive culture within the Fitness Center that values customer service excellence and internal collaboration to achieve goals and maintain exceptional employee standards
  • Develop and maintain strategic and operational plans for optimized productivity in the Fitness Center and maximize level of service
  • Review and improve organizational effectiveness by developing processes, overseeing employees, establishing a highly motivated work environment, and creative innovative approaches for improvement
  • Seek out networking opportunities for expansion and growth by developing new relationships
  • Oversee the administration of all membership documentation and membership process requirements
  • Review all issues for resolution ensuring alignment with all best practices and policies and procedures focusing on positive client experience
  • Foster and encourage a culture that strives to be energetic and fun, while striving for continuous improvement and success
  • Direct employees to ensure adherence to all policies and procedures
  • Provide performance, leadership, coaching and mentoring to employees related to best practice, professional conduct, contribution to the company vision, relationship management and stakeholder engagement
  • Oversee and facilitate performance management and ensure all team members understand their key accountabilities and perform to the expected level
  • Resolve internal employee conflicts efficiently and to the mutual benefit of those involved
  • Provide leadership in development of team communication and cohesiveness

Your strengths include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, plus related work experience or the equivalent work experience
  • A background in athletics, sports, sports management and/or business management with fitness center experience is an asset
  • Proven experience in a managerial role
  • Strong decision-making capabilities
  • Above average communication and delegation skills
  • Able to develop and maintain collaborative relationships
  • Demonstrate leadership and people management skills
  • Highly motivated team-player
  • Able to deliver a high level of interactive customer service
  • Able to proactively solve problems
  • Proven success in achieving monthly KPI’s and quotas
  • Demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity
