The company was founded on May 29, 1933 and is headquartered in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.Job SummaryWe are seeking a Compressor Engineer with a mechanical engineering background to join our Riyadh Refinery Department – Reliability Unit (RU). The RU functions as a centralized engineering unit dedicated to meeting the technical needs of our refinery operations. It provides critical support in compressor monitoring, technical assistance, troubleshooting, and coordinates Predictive Maintenance (PdM) and Preventive Maintenance (PM) activities.Your primary role within the RU will be to offer technical support to our refinery operating plants, projects, and technology deployments. Additionally, you will play a key role in the development of junior Compressor Engineers, conducting special studies and analyses focused on specialized rotating equipment assets. You will manage our reliability programs and spearhead the development of monitoring programs aimed at enhancing equipment availability and reliability across the refinery.This position requires a strong background in mechanical engineering, particularly in compressor systems, and the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives that optimize operational efficiency and reliability within the refinery environment.Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical guidance, support, training, and expertise to plant departments.
  • Assess plant operations, maintenance, and engineering for rotating equipment and compressor systems, recommending actions for improvements and system optimization.
  • Develop and maintain lifecycle management activities for rotating equipment and compressor systems.
  • Coordinate Predictive Maintenance (PdM) and Preventive Maintenance (PM) for rotating equipment and compressor systems.
  • Ensure manufacturing knowledge is captured and continuous improvement is achieved by benchmarking and improving practices across operating facilities.
  • Provide leadership and support for rotating equipment and compressor systems across operating facilities.
  • Offer engineering expertise and consulting on plant rotating equipment and compressor systems.
  • Conduct thorough failure analysis and issue recommendations, participating in equipment major failure investigation teams.
  • Gather and analyze critical operating parameters from DCS, PI systems, and operator checklists, recommending corrective actions.
  • Prepare detailed technical scopes for major equipment overhauls.
  • Maintain and execute installation, configuration, and upgrade procedures.
  • Lead or support plant outages, shutdowns, and troubleshoot problems.
  • Perform system testing and health monitoring, utilizing system logs for troubleshooting.
  • Create and implement new strategies to improve productivity and support startup and maintenance activities.
  • Review Engineering Design Change (EDC), new, and upgrade project packages, providing comments.
  • Establish and maintain an asset fault analysis database, ensuring completeness of data, drawings, and information, and updating all modifications.

Requirements:

  • Willingness to relocate to Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in rotating equipment within a refinery or the Petrochemical industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of best engineering practices, solid industry codes, and standards background.
  • Proficiency in engineering software such as System1, CCC, or Vibration CSI.
