Our team includes world-class experts and dynamic go-getters. This Graduate Instrumentation EIT/Technologist is a full-time position based in Vancouver, BC. This job will be a hybrid role with 2 days in the office, at our Fabrication Facility, and 3 days working from home.Responsibilities:

  • Configuration, setup, and maintenance tasks of the Instrumentation database and software updates to ensure optimization and effective integration with other instrumentation tools.
  • Integration of various engineering databases.
  • Development of all templates used to prepare datasheets, wiring terminations, and loop diagrams, as well as report generation.
  • Coordination and development of instrument specifications, installation details, wiring, and loop drawings.
  • Design junction box location, instrument cable schedule, MTOs.
  • Design bus communication layouts for smart instrumentation.
  • Generate termination diagrams for junction boxes, wiring, and loop diagrams.
  • Generate instrument location drawings.
  • Design panel layouts for instrumentation.
  • Work comfortably with P&IDs, control narratives, interlock diagrams, and alarm summary tables.
  • Proficient in reading and working with equipment supplier drawings.
  • Coordinate work with instrumentation team members and other disciplines.
  • Potential domestic and/or international travel for vendor and site checkout.

QualificationsWhat you will bring:Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements:

  • Understanding of detailed design of I&C systems, including familiarity with instrumentation used in the chemical industry, instrument specifications, installation details, wiring, and loop drawings.
  • Familiarity with design codes and standards.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently and demonstrate effective organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of AVEVA Instrumentation, 3D modeling, AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of database systems and database programming is an asset.
  • Knowledge of AVEVA Instrumentation or SMART instrumentation software is an asset.
  • Available to travel internationally within and outside of Canada.

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

  • Instrument/Controls Technology Diploma or Instrumentation/Controls Engineering Degree

#LI-HybridFor applicants based in the province of British Columbia, the salary range for those who hold an engineering degree is CAD $56,000 to $86,000, based on a 37.5hr work week. Expected salary: $56000 – 86000 per year
