Our 98,000 employees operate a network of 2,650 offices and laboratories, working together to enable a better, safer and more interconnected world.Job DescriptionOur client is currently looking for a Health & Safety Coordinator int he Construction Industry.The contractor should perform 2 visits/week from Monday to Friday (in non-consecutive days) to check the H&S compliance of contractors/sub-contrators on site. There is a possibility of multiples locations which would results in more than 2 days per week collectively.Responsibilities:
- Visiting the site, to analyse the environment conditions, on-site risks, electric lines, other facilities that may affect the project; and providing recommendations to the Health and Safety Plan, Procedures, etc.
- May have to draft H&S Plan for site.
- Analysis of the Health & Safety Plan of the main contractors.
- To check & ensure the compliance of local H&S legislation on site.
- Preparation of the administrative H&S procedures for Local Works Authority.
- Reporting to Client on the Health and Safety status during construction.
- Attend periodical follow-up meetings to discuss about the progress of projects or questions about H&S matters on site.
- Must check the requirement of any specific qualification / accreditation / training needed to perform the activities at site.
- H&S Coordinators to arrange a H&S meeting on site to discuss about the H&S safety measures which must be followed on site.
- Attend H&S meeting on site:
– Draft minutes of meeting
– Get the signatures of attendees
- Keep all concerned educated if there is any amendment about local H&S regulation with regards to construction safety.
- In case of accident/incident on site, an investigation report template must be fulfilled by H&S Coordinator.
- Preventive Management, Preventive Planning, Identify and open NCR.
- Investigation of potential accidents.
- Recommendations in case of risks or hazardous situations.
- Participating in Health and Safety Service Audits.
Qualifications
- Have construction safety background and knowledge about H&S local regulations in construction safety.
- Should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- A certification in Health and Safety would be an asset.
- A valid National Construction Safety Officer certificate is preferable.
- This is a contract position for a few days a week. The position could last 3 to 4 months.
