Key Focuses

• Supports quality first impressions at the front desk, lobby, and guest entrance by being present and visible in operations throughout the day.
• Engages team members to deliver “picture perfect” results in all rooms and public areas, ensuring standards for cleanliness and readiness are met.
• Directs and coordinates hotel activities to achieve established goals, objectives, and standards.
• Monitors all hotel departments, including front office, housekeeping, maintenance, and more, to ensure smooth operations.
• Provides direct reports with the training, resources, direction, coaching, and feedback required for their continuous development.
• Analyses GSS scores as they relate to “Guest Room Cleanliness,” “People,” and “Front Desk” to identify areas of the hotel that require additional training and support.
• Owns sales activities for the hotel, working in conjunction with the Corporate Sales Team and Director of Revenue Optimization.
• Oversees all accounts receivable and payables processes to ensure organizational standards are adhered to ensure expedient collection and payment through Corporate Office.

Experience/Passions/Education

• Minimum of 2 years experience as a Hotel General Manager.
• Minimum 5 years of Hotel leadership experience.
• Post-Secondary education or Tourism related degree.

Working ConditionsDue to the 24-hour operation of the Hotel, the General Manager may be exposed to long shifts that at times include late hours, weekends, and holidays. This position is set in a fast-paced environment, with high levels of interaction with guests, employees, and other stakeholders.
