Job description: REINSURANCE ACCOUNTANT – FINANCE – BERMUDA – 10% TAX – HR305About this opportunityOur client is a global insurance and investment organization that provides property, casualty and other, the company is currently seeking applicants for their Reinsurance Accountant position.Roles and responsibilities:

• To assist in running and maintenance of reinsurance processes and accounting for our client Insurance & Reinsurance Limited and its branches
• Assist in managing financial control activities
• To assist in ensuring that the company meets it’s group reporting, statutory, regulatory and internal requirements
• Assist with the implementation and maintenance of appropriate controls and procedures over the accounting and reinsurance reporting
• Assist with all operational aspects of the production of ledgers, including the preparation of account reconciliations and analysis
• Assist with the interpretation and implementation of accounting standards and accounting rules
• Preparation of quarterly management information and quarterly external reports
• Assist with process improvements in collaboration with counterpart Finance leadership group members in order to ensure the efficient and accurate production of data
• The preparation of ad-hoc information necessary for statutory accounts and regulatory returns
• Assist with the following activities:

• Preparation and maintenance of timetables and KPIs
• Handling of all technical aspects affecting the regulatory and Group returns
• Performing the technical review of all regulatory returns
• Follow all requirements of the company internal control framework
• To assist with the creation and maintenance of timely and accurate information to enable completion of all company returns
• To assist with the maintenance of the general ledger to ensure integrity of data
• Ensure all agreements are processed according to the Company’s compliance, regulatory and legal obligations
• Report any suspicion of financial crime to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer immediately
• Manage any potential conflicts of interest to avoid disrepute to the Company’s integrity
• Immediately advise Compliance of any complaints

What you’ll need

• Recognised accounting qualification (CPA / ACA / ACCA)
• Educated to degree level or equivalent, with 4 – 6 years’ professional accounting experience
• Working knowledge of reporting requirements imposed by UK GAAP, US GAAP and IFRS
• BMA and local processing arrangements and reporting
• Reinsurance accounting practices and procedures
• Building and maintaining accounting procedures and systems
• Analysis and problem solving, change orientated, flexible thinking style, advanced numeracy, balanced judgment and decision making ability, project planning, professional business writing and presentation skills, strong communicator: verbal and written; and Pragmatic
• Microsoft Office: advanced Excel, with an intermediate level of understanding in Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Microsoft Dynamics and 4 URS / SAP
