Job description: Industry Standards and Practices AdvisorOur client is seeking a highly skilled and empathetic Industry Standards and Practices Advisor to join their team. This role is essential in managing and resolving a range of complaints and inquiries. The ideal candidate will excel in building strong relationships, possess high emotional intelligence, and handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion. They should be adept at diffusing tense interactions, understand industry rules and regulations, and demonstrate strong critical thinking skills.Your success will be defined by your ability to:

  • Prepare and manage documents related to the complaint process, such as Case Summaries, Consent Agreements, and Panel Decisions, while organizing electronic files and managing calendars.
  • Respond to inquiries and complaints from members, stakeholders, and the public, and handle general correspondence with a high degree of professionalism.
  • Administer the complaint process, including evidence exchange, scheduling panels, and supporting panels during Hearings or Appeals, while referring cases of non-compliance to the Board of Directors.
  • Develop and update training materials and communications for committee members, prepare and present educational reports and materials, and facilitate training sessions and Membership Hearings.
  • Maintain confidentiality, adhere to privacy best practices, facilitate trademark enforcement, and verify membership suspensions as required.
  • Apply critical thinking skills to evaluate and resolve complex issues effectively.
  • Deliver clear and confident presentations and written communications, ensuring excellence in spelling, grammar, and professional conduct.

Your strengths include:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a customer-support role managing sensitive and complex complaints.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a quasi-judicial or administrative justice role with a strong understanding of legal concepts.
  • Strong critical thinking abilities and confidence in public speaking and written communication.
  • Certification in Administrative Justice through the Foundation of Administrative Justice (FOAJ) and knowledge of the real estate industry in Alberta are assets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with accurate typing skills of at least 50 WPM.
  • Excellent interpersonal and professional communication skills, with strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate effectively within a team, while being patient, diplomatic, and tactful with a high degree of confidentiality.
