Job description: Job Description:In order to ensure your application is received by NAIT for thorough review and consideration, please apply directly through our Careers site atThe Construction Engineering Technology program is looking for a dynamic, energetic individual with strong communication skills who is committed to student success, satisfaction, motivation, and achievement and in participating in the team concept of program operation.Please review the program and courses at:Key Responsibilities:Preparing and presenting classes in classroom and lab settingsOrganizing and supervising practical student assignmentsConducting student evaluation and maintaining progress recordsSeeking feedback from students on instructionParticipating in course reviews, program reviews and curriculum developmentMaintaining contact with relevant industry and professional associationsParticipating in activities such as NAIT’s Open House and NAIT related activities and committeesParticipating in program events such as Bridge Building, Industry Night, Student Club, etc.Skills & Abilities:Project Manager with 5+ years of experience in construction project management and/or estimating with a general contracting firm or similar (commercial/institutional/industrial), orStrong background in the fundamentals of the Construction Engineering Technology programBasic computer literacy is required, as well as excellent written and oral communication skillsExperience in structural and/or geotechnical engineering or soil mechanics would be an assetExperience in managing CCDC, municipality/governmental, or subcontractor contracts would be an assetExperience in estimating would be an assetExperience in the emerging construction trends, technologies, and software related to the design/construction of commercial/institutional/industrial projects would be an assetExperience with building envelopes, sustainable building practices, and/or mechanical and electrical systems would be an assetQualifications:Graduate or Undergraduate degree in Architecture or Engineering (Construction/Civil or a related area), orDiploma in Construction Engineering or Architectural Technology from a recognized Technical Institute is requiredEligibility for registration with APEGA, ASET or AAA is an assetApplicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).Remuneration: Will commensurate with education and experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package.Instructor salary grid $65,218.00 – $113,452.00 annually. However, starting salary for new hires averages between $78,998.00 – $85,889.00 annually based on education and experience with room for negotiations.
