Our client is searching for a Intermediate Accountant as they continue to grow their team in SE Calgary. Working closely with the rest of the Finance team, the Intermediate Accountant will be a source of financial expertise and have strong financial analytical skills.Your success will be defined by your ability to:
- Perform balance sheet and general ledger account reconciliations and investigation of outstanding and reconciling items – AR, AP, deferred revenue, intercompany, prepaid and payroll liability, etc. accounts for all entities.
- Assist with preparing and posting monthly journal entries for revenue, payroll, depreciation, and accruals.
- Assist with month-end close and monthly financial statement packages, including variance analysis.
- Improve, update and organize rental agreements, reconciliations, and lease schedules.
- Assist with the ongoing monitoring of internal control processes and documentation.
- Participate, assist, and/or complete special projects and analysis as required.
- Ensure compliance with organizational guidelines and procedures, and ASPE framework.
- Partner with Finance team to maintain working papers on key balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
- Partner with the Financial Planning Analyst.
Your strengths include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting with a minimum of three (3) years of accounting experience.
- Actively pursuing a CPA designation.
- Strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
- Tech-savvy with proficiency in accounting software.
- Analytical mind with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail with solid organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent report writing, communication, and IT skills.
- Competent in Microsoft Office and Accounting software packages.
