Job description: Intermediate Accountant – TechnologyAre you ready to join a large and growing team of dynamic, performance driven accounting community?As an intermediate accountant, you will be responsible for accounting for our technology team in accordance with U.S. GAAP. You will perform various daily and month-end procedures related to the billing and invoicing processes for our internal technology team and third party contractors.In this role, the successful candidate is needed to be in the greater Vancouver, BC area, where we practice a remote first working model, leveraging in person interactions for strategic, collaborative, and social purposes.Make a difference on our Technology team as an intermediate accountant!What you’ll do:

• Perform month end close processes, liaise with subject matter experts to effectively and accurately prepare journal entries
• Provide general ledger coding guidance to business stakeholder and monthly billing support
• Perform routine analysis based on existing tools and templates to support journal entries, assist in variance analysis of income statement and balance sheet accounts in accordance with US GAAP and Enterprise Finance Policy to meet internal compliance requirements. Investigates and resolves any related discrepancies.
• Create reporting while considering decision maker needs and reporting objectives before building reports
• Develop and implement process enhancements, automation, and best practices to increase efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of financial reporting
• Design basic reconciliation templates and identify most efficient ways to extract data
• Assist business partners in finding solutions by making informed judgments and decisions through thorough analysis of information. Apply general knowledge of US GAAP and reporting guidelines

What we’re looking for:

• 2+ years full cycle accounting experience in a mid to large size organization
• 2+ years understanding controls, performing routine reconciliations and P&L variance analysis
• Intermediate MS Excel
• Familiarity with SQL
• Effective communication and presentation skills
• Post-Secondary Degree (in accounting preferred)
• Second Year CPA Program
