Job description: Job Description:WSP is currently seeking a forward-thinking, Intermediate Mechanical Engineer with Healthcare Building experience to join our team located in downtown Vancouver. You will be a standout colleague and a key member of an evolving team responsible for developing mechanical building systems from the schematic design stage through to the completion of construction for a variety of projects, with a focus on healthcare projects.This role will be ideal for someone looking to play a mentorship role and help develop junior and intermediate Mechanical Engineers.RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides technical support and mentors junior staff within the mechanical team
  • Responsible for taking on design projects with the supervision of senior staff from start to finish and applying technical and professional engineering and consulting expertise
  • Familiarization with National, Provincial, and Municipal Codes and Standards. Ensures the design documents meet established project criteria and applicable standards. Coordinates the preparation of engineering specifications and drawings, quantities, and opinions of probable cost
  • Responsible for researching and implementing new technology designs as required to meet client’s objectives.
  • Utilize industry-specific software and related technologies in design and analysis
  • Interested in participation in business development and proposal preparation activities
  • Interested in financial management of projects

QUALIFICATIONS

  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Membership or eligibility for membership, in the Engineers and Geoscientists of the Province of British Columbia (EGBC)
  • 3+ years of mechanical engineering and design experience on healthcare projects
  • Recent experience on major complex building projects – experience with large-scale projects a distinct advantage
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding REVIT is a definite advantage.
