We are seeking a highly motivated individual with strong organizational and time management skills, and who can work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. General responsibilities will be to compile and reconcile various general ledger accounts, compile and generate bi-weekly payroll reports for review and be an integral member of various month end deliverables. The Intermediate Staff Accountant should also have a great understanding of accounting functions (AP/AR) and other internal controls.What will you do?
- Compile and generate bi-weekly payroll files through ADP WFN and ADP Run
- Maintaining accurate records of all AR transactions
- Handle customer inquiries related to outstanding invoices
- Resolve discrepancies in accounts and payments
- Posting transactions and categorizing records in the general ledger
- Reconciling accounts including bank statements and various GL accounts to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.
- Preparing and filing HST/EHT/WSIB/WCB related returns
- Monthly bank compliance certificates
- Participate in special projects as assigned by senior staff
RequirementsWhat do you need to succeed?
- University degree or college diploma in accounting or finance-related field
- Intermediate-Advances MS Excel skills
- High level of integrity and experience working with sensitive and confidential information
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with clients and customers
- Strong attention to detail and ability to learn quickly
- Ability to work effectively in a busy, deadline-driven environment.
- Achievement oriented; must be able to juggle multiple tasks, tight deadlines and changing priorities
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Excel
- Worked in an engineering consulting services business environment (considered an asset)
- Familiarity with Deltek Vision (considered an asset)
- Experience working within a multi-national/multi-currency firm (considered an asset)
