Job description: Job Description:We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Internal Auditor for a great organization based in Calgary, Alberta. In this role, you will be expected to examine and evaluate our organization’s financial and information systems, management procedures, and internal controls to ensure that records are accurate and controls are adequate.Responsibilities:

  • Conducting audits of accounting, operational, and financial data of various departments within the organization to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Creating and implementing audit plans, identifying weaknesses in systems, and creating risk aversion plans.
  • Overseeing accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy of financial data and compliance with statutory regulations.
  • Communicating audit findings to management and stakeholders, and providing recommendations for policy and procedure modifications.
  • Developing and executing audit programs to achieve audit objectives.
  • Conducting fraud investigation, identifying fraudulent activities, and recommending actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Would require travel for 10-15% of the role
  • Collaboration with other departments

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the Internal or SOX audit
  • Proficiency in using Accounting Software Systems and ADP
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing Audit Programs
  • In-depth understanding of Accounting Functions
  • Ability to interpret and communicate Audit Findings effectively
  • Experience in Auditing and creating comprehensive Audit Plans
  • Proficiency in conducting Fraud Investigations
  • Candidates should possess strong analytical, problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
  • Candidates should have a strong ethical standard and integrity
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

Expected salary: $75000 – 85000 per year
