Job description: OverviewThe Inventory Analyst will lead, implement and manage a consistent and safe approach to production, sales and inventory reconciliation as well as BOM/Recipe creations for all ready mix sites in the Greater Calgary Area (GCA). This will be accomplished through variant daily/bi-weekly and monthly monitoring and adjustments of inventory and production metrics at all plants as well as continuous communication with production, sales, quality and finance. She/he will also work with all departments to help drive plant efficiencies and reduce operating costs.The Inventory Analyst will primarily interface with the Finance and Quality Managers – but will have regular interactions with other members of the GCA team such as the Operations, Production, and Sales. The Inventory Analyst will be responsible for all BOM creation/management, finished goods, and share in the accountability for short product and long inventory.Responsibilities:Safety Leadership:Promotes an organized and efficient production environment that drives a safe work culture in the Greater Calgary Area.Master Data Management:Responsible for setup new items and their associated product recipes and BOMs at each plant.Works closely with Sales and Quality to maximize saleable m3 from each plant based on the inventory and finished goods of the site.Works closely with Quality Manager for BOM uploads and recipe data in all systems for production.Ensures BOM’s and corresponding recipes are uploaded into all systems upon request.WorkflowCoordinate with billing coordinators for each market area to help resolve workflow errors that are holding up billing in a timely mannerCreate Purchase Orders for material suppliers and manages the requisitioning of such in SAPReconcile Finished Goods inventory in the system dailyInventory/Consumption Tracking:Daily Receiving of all raw materialsCoordinate admixture receiving with P2P groups if neededCreate monthly physical inventory processesWork with Quality Managers to ensure correct product and source codes are being used and resolve system production errors.Work with PM’s and Operations to ensure systems are in place for monthly and annual physical inventory countsAnalyze results of physical counts to identify opportunities and concerns.Ensures product inventories are managed (and reflected in reporting) so that material and inventory data is up to date and reconciled in all reports and systems.Provides consistent and effective reports for production, sales and finance management.Business Analysis:Review daily production and sales reports from each plant for finished goods reconciliation.Review inventory items with plant managers and identify issues and improvement opportunities.Review material losses with Plant and Finance Managers for reconciliation and identify issues and improvement opportunities.Work with Finance and business to generate Reporting for Inventory, Sales and other business analysisOther Duties:Other Finance analysis (to be determined as become more familiar with SAP and systems)Assist Finance related to CAPEX managing and maintaining capital expendituresAct as a support for work groups that may need assistance in regards to SAP expertise, BOM knowledge, workflow error resolutionHelp create reports or KPI’s for business areas (ie/ delivery trackers, sales reporting from BW)Relationships with Others Jobs:Reports to Finance ManagerWorks directly with key stakeholders (e.g. Plant Managers)Works closely with other functional teams (e.g. Sales, Logistics, Production, Material Performance and Quality)Works closely with Other Inventory Analysts to create consistency between areasQualifications:Education & Work Experience:Diploma or Degree Program in FinanceJunior Accountant with 1 – 2 years’ experience ideal, but new grads encouraged to apply!Knowledge & Skills:Drive for resultPassion for excellenceStrong people skillsProblem solving and analytical skillsDisciplined and process orientedStrong computer skills and familiar with ERP system and flowsAs part of our dedicated focus on the health and safety of all employees, a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing and a criminal record check, may be required.YOUR LAFARGE EXPERIENCE
